The Global Growth Conference (GGC) 2025, organized by the Amadeus Institute, took place from 20 to 21 May 2025 in Rabat, Morocco, under the theme: “Financing Growth, Shaping the Energy Transition”.
The event brought together over 400 participants, including ministers, investors, and representatives of sovereign wealth funds and international financial institutions. The discussions focused on identifying practical financing strategies to address global uncertainties and support sustainable economic transformation across Africa.
The African Legal Support Facility (ALSF) took part in the roundtable entitled “Overcoming Global Uncertainties & Financing Economic Transformation: Harnessing Investment Funds, Sovereign Wealth & Financial Institutions for Sustainable Growth”.
Ms. Mariame - Yolande BAH, Legal Counsel and Regional Coordinator for North and Central Africa, shared her insights on the development, governance, and legal frameworks for sovereign wealth funds, and outlined how the ALSF assists African countries in leveraging these vehicles for sustainable economic transformation.
The ALSF’s engagement in this conference reflects its broader mandate to promote sound financial governance across Africa and its mission to deliver tailored legal and technical support to African countries navigating complex financial challenges.
