Conakry, Guinea, May 09 - 11, 2025 – representatives of the African Legal Support Facility (ALSF), consisting of Mr. Mohamed STEVENS, Legal Counsel and Dr. Mamadou Ciré DIALLO, Capacity Building Manager for the natural resources and extractive industries sector attended the third (3rd) edition of the WADME African Mining and Energy Law Weekend.

WADME is an annual event organized by Institut de Formation et d'Expertise Juridique (IFEJ) and the Guinean Bar Association. WADME mobilizes political decision-makers, investors, lawyers, researchers and representatives of companies involved in Africa’s mining and energy sector.

Dr DIALLO had the opportunity to present ALSF, its activities, its procedures for requesting assistance, and some of its successes in the extractive sector. In particular, he highlighted the broad geographical scope of the institution's intervention, with a particular focus on transitional states. Mr. Mohamed STEVENS took part in a round table discussion on critical minerals for Africa: vision and regulations.

ALSF applauds the WADME organizers' commitment to placing this forum at the heart of the continent's agenda for reflection on the legal framework and good governance of mining and energy resources.
