Senior Legal Counsel

S. Patrick Ng’ambi

Dr. S. Patrick Ng’ambi is Senior Legal Counsel in the Institutional Division of the African Legal Support Facility (ALSF). His role includes providing management and the secretariat with legal advisory services, revising the Facility’s policies and relations with member States and institutions.

Prior to this, he was Lecturer of Law at the University of Zambia, where he specialized in International Trade and Investment Law. He also served Head of Department (Public Law), Assistant Dean and as a Member of the Senate. His research culminated in various international publications including Resource Nationalism in International Investment Law (Routledge). In addition to this, he was an International Legal Consultant for various entities including the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from De Montfort University, a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Cornell University and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree from the University of Leicester, where he was a Commonwealth Scholar. He is also an Advocate of the High Court of Zambia.
