Joël Sanon

Joël Sanon is a Senior Legal Counsel at the African Legal Support Facility. He has been with the ALSF since February 2019.
Prior to joining the ALSF, Mr. Sanon worked as a consultant at Thiam & Associés law firm in Guinea where his practice focused on the development and the financing of energy, mining, and infrastructure projects, as well as mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and corporate reorganizations.
Prior to joining Thiam& Associés, Mr. Sanon gained valuable work experience in the Paris office of ISS Governance, the world-leading provider of corporate governance and responsible investment solutions, in the debt capital market legal department of HSBC France and in the Project Development & Finance/Africa department of Shearman & Sterling in Paris.
Mr. Sanon is a French qualified lawyer and is registered with the Paris Bar (not currently practicing). He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Private Law, two Master’s Degree in Business Law and in General Private Law from the Université Montesquieu Bordeaux IV, and an MSc. in Management and Business Law from the PSB Paris School of Business.
